You’ve got everything to gain and nothing to lose with coaching – finding the clarity to start a business

I asked Jenny Wilkins, owner of Rejig Organising, a personal organising, storage and decluttering service, about her experience with Future Path Life Coaching:

I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. When I booked our session I was feeling content but ready to move on to a new phase in my life. By the time we got together, the issues around starting my new business had grown and were affecting my family life. Our meeting turned out to be excellent timing.

Leading up to starting my coaching journey, I was reflecting on my relationships and negative influences and thought about counselling but decided that I needed something forward-focussed, rather than backwards-looking. I use yoga and mindfulness to manage my mental health and was attracted to Future Path Life Coaching as Jackie understands the specific life challenges of Mums.

During our initial Mum to Mum chat, I found Jackie to be warm and approachable but also very structured and confident. I investigated her website and Facebook page which were really clear and useful too.

The top result from working with Future Path Life Coaching was to give me the clarity to set up my own business! As a busy Mum, it’s so hard to stop and reflect and plan. Jackie gave me that time and a large dose of sense checking. I needed to think through my plans independently so that they were absolutely right for ME on a personal and business level.

I managed to put all the negative comments from those around me away in a box and find some clarity. I knew the answers to my questions but Jackie helped me to access them in a calmer way without the emotions. Through the coaching, Jackie helps you to establish your vision and how you want to achieve it, she asks lots of questions that you’re perhaps not brave enough to ask yourself.

The coaching took me back to my core values – what really makes me tick – and use them as the basis for the kind of person I want to be. I needed grounding back to those elements and to have the confidence to be true to my values.

Coaching doesn’t offer overnight solutions, I found the 6 months of sessions with Future Path Life Coaching helpful as it develops a structure for change that you can revisit in the months to come. Sometimes you don’t know the impact of a conversation until much later.

You’ve got everything to gain and nothing to lose with coaching! It’s non-critical; it just brings out the best in you. Mums are generally bad at investing in ourselves and some might feel guilty about spending money on life coaching, our day-to-day pressures mean that we don’t have the headspace to look after our own self-development. I came out with a vision for my future and a belief in myself.

As a busy mum of two, Jackie Meek at Future Path Life Coaching understands the chaos and stress that frazzled working Mums deal with daily. A qualified leadership and personal development coach, Jackie puts the focus back on you and inspires you to be the best version of yourself.

During my 6 sessions I learnt to treat myself as I would treat my friend. I gained confidence to start to like and appreciate myself which led me into becoming a much happier person. I realised that focusing on future plans and setting clear actions is the right way to keep the track of my life expectations. I know I don’t have to achieve it all, as long as I am happy with the process and end result.
